In June 2009 the International Convention on Culture and Economy The 29th Hanseatic Days of the New Time was held in Veliky Novgorod. A round granite fountain was constructed as a symbol of a round table. On the dark granite there are 16 emblems of Hanseatic States mosaicing a colored panel.

Hanseatic Fountain composition is completed by a bronze sculpture installed at the end of a 12-meter path leading to the banks of the Volkhov River. There is Hanseatic Sign - the first memorial sign dedicated to Hanseatic Trade Union. The location of the sculpture on the right bank of the Volkhov River at the Yaroslav’s Court makes sense - it was here that the ships of the Hanseatic merchants moored centuries ago.

Hanseatic Sign presents us two ancient sailing ships swaying on the waves: Hanseatic kogg and Novgorod rook. An interesting fact is that instead of the sails there are two trees, whose crowns are pleached with each other as a symbol of the unbreakable connection of countries and times, the unity of the Old and the New Hansa.
